Blog More Successfully With These Great Tips

By Dwayne Pyle

Blogging is a hobby that many different people can enjoy. If you'd like to start a blog about cooking, for example, you can post videos of someone preparing a dish or share recipes. Blogging is a versatile way to communicate, as you can include your visitors in the conversation, as well.

Make sure that you consistently post when running a blog. If you don't post content regularly, then your site traffic will diminish fairly quickly. Have a guestbook or contact information posted as well, so your audience can interact and provide feedback. If your readers are happy with your response, they are more likely to come back.

If you have low feedburner counts, do not let that be shown. Unless your numbers are high, this will only hurt you. It will show others that not a lot of people are reading your blog, and will act as proof that your blog is not worth taking the time to read.

Create a themed blog according to what you are writing about. For example, if you have an agriculture blog, build your colors and theme around country roads and corn fields. Colors that seem out of place will be more likely to turn people off from reading and enjoying your blog.

Only use content on your blog that is your own. Plagiarizing someone's work is a sure way to lose users. They will take this as a sign that you are not to be trusted. If you are going to mention someone's ideas then you should make sure to give them credit for it.

Make sure you use good images in your blog posts. This will increase the quality of your posts in general. Additionally, your blog will become more interesting for your reader. This is a powerful and simple way to increase the over all quality of your blog and to get more readership.

Use the correct spam filter for comments. If you require registration to comment, a CAPTCHA on the registration page is usually sufficient to keep spammers away. If you allow anonymous comments, an "advanced CAPTCHA," that is, one that asks the user for "the number of hours in a day" or something similar is usually enough. Avoid services like Akismet, as these produce lots of false positives.

Do not write your blogs about random things. Writing like this is not good for readership. You should try to stay as consistent as possible and you should try to find a topic that you are particularly interested in. This will ensure that you get the most attention to your articles.

Don't forget to add social media sharing links on your blog. This will ensure that people can share your blog on their profiles for free. Doing this can increase your traffic by quite a bit. It will keep increasing if the content's good because people can tell their friends which puts you on multiple pages at once.

Consider buying an already-established blog. If you have something to say and someone else is already saying it, and saying it well, you might be able to buy them out. The advantage is that the blog will already have a proven track record. All you have to do is maintain or exceed that track record.

As previously noted, there are so many decisions to be made when you begin blogging. Knowing what you want to say is usually easier than deciding where and how to get your message across. The information and ideas from this article can help you to create a blog that gets your message to those that you want to reach.
